I like it, but cannot afford it for my own site. I prefer to use MyBB among free scripts as it has a good SEO mod - Google SEO.

Currently most discussions are non-technical. A rudimentary knowledge or no legal knowledge is necessary. :) I'm hoping to build up content to make it a legal resource actually. But the forum needs to be active and I am desperate for activity.

One of the biggest issues here is tracking links you've exchanged with. I do notice a lot of webmasters take down links sneakily after a few months and you end up on the losing side. I would be very careful doing link exchanges with potential competitors as you could end up benefitting them a lot more than it being of mutual help. I would suggest using some kind of automated link tracker to see if your link exists on the exchanged site. Unless of course you trust the link partner.

Thanks. The default google links listing is more useful than that of webmaster tools. I was hoping webmaster tools would be more informational.

I'm not going to hold my breath but I'll be hoping that I can get in. It seems to be a useful resource.

I've applied to be an editor at DMOZ now. I am not sure whether it will be agreed or not, but no harm in trying. :D

Thanks, Bob. I put the portal page first because I wanted my articles to be indexed better by google on the front page. It's more content-rich that way. I feel that it could help even if only in a small way.

I couldn't figure out how to get a full list of external links from webmaster tools. Does anybody know how to obtain this stat? Or is it not possible?

I used it recently. It got me a decent amount of clicks, but few converted to members. I have a feeling that a few domains were cheating me with fake clicks going by the click/impressions ratio, but I don't know how to report this to google. I used up the voucher (I had to spend a minimum of Rs. 500 to "activate my account" first) I don't feel like spending more money on it.

IPB seems a lot sleeker than I imagined at first. Going by the feature list, I would have expected something as heavyweight as vbulletin if not heavier. :)

My site is law related, so a legal category would be my suggestion. :lol:
