Is being listed in Yahoo of any importance?

 

A few years ago a link in the Yahoo directory was worth it's weight in gold. Now it doesn't seem to drive any traffic or very little traffic to the sites that I have listed there.

 

Also the number of visitors I get from the pages listed in Yahoo search doesn't seem to help much either.

 

What's your thoughts on Yahoo and do you think it is important to optimize for Yahoo?

I just checked search engine traffic across my sites and Yahoo ranks as low as .8% on one site, to as high as 13.12% on another.

 

I hate to say they are no longer relevant, but I pretty much view them as catch as catch can.

This topic was created in 2010, and 15 years later, Yahoo still exists and we are still asking the same question. Well, Yahoo is still one of the top three search engines and Globally, Yahoo is still used by 1.41 percent. This is still a huge number considered the fact that 5 billion people use search engines.
