Here’s a list of popular website directories: DMOZ (Open Directory Project): A comprehensive human-edited directory of websites. No longer accepts submissions. Curlie (DMOZ Replacement): Editors got together and created Curlie with data and tools avaialable at DMOZ. You can apply to be an editor and submit your sites. Yahoo Directory: Although it has been discontinued, it was once a popular directory; some similar alternatives exist. Best of the Web: A paid directory that categorizes websites into various topics. BOTW.org: A directory that allows users to submit their websites for inclusion. Yahoo Local: Focuses on local businesses and services, providing listings and reviews. Yellow Pages: A well-known directory for businesses, primarily in the U.S. Superpages: Another business directory that offers local listings and reviews. Angie's List: A directory focused on service providers, particularly home services. Yelp: Primarily a review site, but also serves as a directory for local businesses. Foursquare: A local search-and-discovery service that provides user-generated reviews. Whitepages: A directory for finding people and businesses, including contact information.
