I couldn't figure out how to get a full list of external links from webmaster tools. Does anybody know how to obtain this stat? Or is it not possible?

I don't believe it is any more accurate than a site: search, but you can do a links: search on Google.

 

links:yourdomain is the correct syntax.

Thanks. The default google links listing is more useful than that of webmaster tools. I was hoping webmaster tools would be more informational.

There are a lot of backlink checkers that will let you find out backlinks for your site. There are also tools to find out your outgoing links. You can find these tools through Google search
