This is probably a clear signal that there is no more space for another social networking site on the internet unless you do it the niche way. Another Web 2.0 league social networking/blogging platform VOX from Six Apart is no more after Sep 15th. While the reasons are not explained, its obvious that they probably realized its a failed product.

In an email send to users, VOX said –

Vox has been a fun place to explore, create and connect with your friends. But Vox is closing its doors on September 30, 2010.

  • Vox is no longer accepting new user registrations.
If you have an existing Vox account you can continue to sign in to manage your account and view posts from your neighborhood.
  • On Wednesday September 15th, you will no longer be able to create new posts on Vox or upload new photos or videos.
You will still be able to sign in to view your blog and manage your account.
  • On Thursday September 30th, your blog will no longer be available at Vox.com, and you will no longer be able to sign in to Vox.

VOX was an interesting blogging platform, definitely had more juice in it, and not a bad service but probably they couldnt take it any longer. RIP Vox !

</p>Would be interesting to see if more failed social networks would follow VOX.
