Of course, it was a much requested feature, by many facebook enthusiasts, and it works perfectly fine. The problem pops up, when you actually start using it. So, what’s the problem ? Facebook lets you tag your friends on comments – but with their full name, that’s not editable. When was the last time you commented something like this on your friends status update ? “Hey, that was a nice one John Freeman!” Now that is lame and completely “non-facebook” kind. http://i.imgur.com/wc5J5.png We normally comment with informal tags like, dude, yo, bro and may be the first/last name but not the entire name. That’s very LinkedIn, not Facebook. So, what’s the big deal ? Facebook should give us two options. One – To tag your friend in comments and Two – To edit his name to whatever you want, while the link actually goes to the right person. Like, “That was a nice one johnny boy!” (The link on -johnny boy- going to John Freeman’s profile). Makes sense ? Just my two cents.
