However, it seems to have been reduced and dead by now. But many of us jumped in (still do) to try it out and I’m wondering where we stand now. One of the most prominent and popular tools then to make money on Twitter was Sponsored Tweets. One thing that made sponsored tweets stand out from the rest was the celebrity bandwagon that supported them. Everyone from Kim Kardshian to Chris Pirillo was on their list and it all sounded very huge. I started receiving email reports the first week I joined. It was not bad, but as all referral programs, the numbers were rolling in slowly. But lately, the numbers started dwindling, and it didn’t interest me to continue the program. Honestly, I didn’t know how the referrals were happening at all, as I had removed all my referral links (possibly this is the reason why it dwindled). Today almost after an year and a half of joining, I checked the referral stats and its looking very unimpressive. Of course, the lack of activity and pushing from my side is the reason but yet. http://i.imgur.com/8g6ll.pngI’m beginning to wonder if these referral programs actually work or not. Especially on Twitter where things have changed a lot right from the days of authority on follower numbers to authority o engagement. Other referral programs like the Elegant Themes one works great for me, but I think there is very little scope for referral marketing on Twitter. I could be wrong. What’s your experience ?
