So, you most likely forgot your administrator password in your Windows operating system and is pretty much f***ed up! Now what to do ? Forgetting the administrative password can be lethal as administrators have all the access to the system. It is advised that you save your administrative password somewhere safe like on written paper in your documents or on another system so that in case you forget the password on one system, you can check it in another system.

But if you completely lose your administrator password, what do you do ? Here are some possible suggestions.

Solution to change administrator password

Try to restore a backed up System State (in Windows 2000/XP/2003) or a ERD (in NT 4.0) in which you do remember the password. You’ll probably lose all of the recently add users and groups, and all the changed passwords for all of your users since the last backup was made, but at least you can get your system back.
